This week is AISB’s very first Chess Week. It is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the progress and achievement of all our students in their chess lessons, after school activities and external tournaments.

Wednesday Evening: Family Chess Challenge Time: Wednesday 23rd May, 3.30pm – 5.00pm Location: Soi 31 Dining Room Event Details: A fun, friendly tournament where children play the families of other participants. We encourage parents to play – this is a casual event and not competitive – please do not worry about ability! For catering purposes please let us know how many in your family will be attending.

Friday Morning: School Simul Time: Friday 25th May, 9.00am – 11.00am Location: Soi 31, Clarendon Building Event Details: Riste Menkinoski, a FIDE master and professional chess player from Macedonia, will be coming to school to play our students in a simul. There are 16 places available, including two for parents and two for staff. Places are open to anyone who knows how to play chess. A fantastic opportunity to play a chess master! Please note: Places are strictly limited. Students must be in Year 2 or above. Adults of any age!

Saturday: School Championships Time: Saturday 16th May, 8.30am – 3.00pm (approximately) Location: Soi 31 Price: 450thb per entry Event Details: Our final chess tournament of the year. Children will play 6 games of chess to win the title of AISB school champion 2018. There are two divisions: Junior (Year 2 and below) and Senior (Year 3 and above). Each division has trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Best Girl/ We hope to see as many families as possible joining us this week!
