Cooking is fantastic for children as it incorporates all core learning areas. It is fun, tactile and deliciously rewarding. Cooking also stimulates the imagination and causes students to experiment with flavor and texture and to consider what went right or wrong with a recipe or method. Students must be able to listen, follow instruction and be mature enough to take seriously matters of food hygiene and wastage and have a genuine desire to cook. Assistance will be required for younger children and where possible, parent involvement encouraged.
